I’m Running for Sonoma County Office of Education, District 2

I am running because I believe in everything that public schools stand for. I'm a proud product of public education in California: Sonoma Mountain Elementary School, Kenilworth Junior High School, Casa Grande High School, and the University of California, Berkeley.

Public education can and should be an equalizer for all students, but there is plenty of work to make this a reality.

I have served on the Petaluma City Schools Board of Education for nearly eight years, working to amplify student voice, strengthen partnerships with labor unions, advance equity, and increase access to academic offerings like music, ethnic studies, and career and technical education pathways. I have advocated for increased funding at the state and federal levels, which is especially important for districts in southern Sonoma County who are currently shortchanged by the Local Control Funding Formula.

At the County level, I want to work with the other elected leaders to ensure that our tax dollars go to programs that most directly impact students, especially students of color, multilingual students, students with disabilities, LGBTQIA2S+ students, and students impacted by incarceration, homelessness, and/or the foster system.

More information coming soon.

My campaign logo and graphics were designed by the fantastic Christine Lee.
